Chocolatier 2 continues the story in the successful first installment of the Chocolatier series. It features improved graphics, better mechanics and a whole new story continuing the saga of the Baumeister chocolatier family.

It is now the 1920's, a generation after the original Chocolatier game with the world picking itself up after World War I. Unfortunately, things aren't going well for the Baumeister family (if things were doing fine, there wouldn't be a Chocolatier 2 game). The Baumeister chocolate empire has been taken over by the competition through deceit and deception, and it is up to you to build a new chocolate empire in order to take back control of Baumeister Confections.

This game is similar to its predecessor in that the main mechanics of the game involve buying the raw ingredients to make the chocolate, the actual process of making the chocolate, and finally the selling of the finished product to markets around the world.

What makes this game innovative is you can actually see the cities in the original Chocolatier game evolve from the 1880's to the roaring 20's. Everything has been updated to match the post-war industrial boom that marked that era in history.

You will still need to find recipes and build factories to make your chocolate. But you will now also have to search for secret ingredients and secret recipes from all over the world, with only the words of shady characters guiding your way. There are even some secret locations waiting to be discovered.

The process of making the chocolates in your factories has been improved as well. The mini-game of quick reflexes that breaks the otherwise boring number simulation game is back, with a few new tweaks that makes it pretty enjoyable.

So... you find lots of secret ingredients and have big factories. How are you going to make full use of them? Chocolatier 2 introduces the new concept of a testing (tasting?) laboratory! You can attempt to discover new chocolate recipes by combining the various ingredients that you have bought in the hope you will discover the world's latest sweet sensation.

This new concept of discovery adds a whole new element to the strategy of the game. Discover the perfect chocolate, and the money will come rolling in. Discover a dud, and the results will be pretty bitter. As before, the story of the Baumeisters continues stage by stage with the complexity of the game increasing as you progress through the game.

Will you be able to help the Baumeister family create a new chocolate empire and help them take back control of the Baumeister Confections empire? And when you're done making your millions in this game, it is time to check out the other games in the Chocolatier series, where the story of the Baumeisters continue in Chocolatier 3.
