Nanny Mania 1 is a nice break from the typical time management games that involve managing a cafe or a farm efficiently in order to turn a profit. In this game, you take on the role of a nanny, and the reward at the end of the day is seeing the house looking brand spanking new. If only real life housekeeping was just as easy.

I have no idea why a game that involves one of the most tedious and boring real life chores can do so well. I'd rather spend my time really cleaning up my own house rather than cleaning up someone else's house in a make believe world. Hmm... actually, i'd do anything except clean my own house. Ok, so maybe that's why this game is so popular...

The premise of the game is simple. You are hired by the mayor of Suburbia to take care of his house. That means you gotta keep the place in tip-top shape, clean up after the mayor and his wife, and take care of their baby when the parents are out doing important stuff.

Each stage of the game (which gets more and more difficult the further you progress) requires a certain number of tasks to be completed. You might start the day with a messed up bed, dirty kitchen and some laundry to do. So you will need to plan your day efficiently and get those tasks done in time.

Most of these tasks just require a click of the mouse (if only real life housekeeping was so easy). However, there are some tasks that require you to perform a series of actions in order to complete them. For example, doing the laundry involves collecting the clothes, putting them in the washer, waiting for the washer to finish, putting them into the dryer, then into the dresser.

To complicate things further, there's a newborn baby to take care of as well. As you go about your day completing tasks, you also need to make sure the baby isn't getting into trouble. You also need to change diapers and get the baby bottle ready among other childcare tasks.

And it doesn't get any easier. Pretty soon, the baby's going to grow up and start making messes all over the house. Then comes the teenage phase! And if that isn't enough, the happy couple will have more kids as well. You aren't a real nanny until you've learnt how to manage a household with 4 teenagers in it.

There are about 150 levels in this game, which is a huge number considering the complexity of the game. There's a chance you'll get bored with it. I mean, I get bored after 20 levels of something, let alone 150! But if you like the challenge of keeping on top of household tasks and preventing the natural disasters caused by teenagers, then you should be quite happy with the game.

So pick up your broom and put on your gloves as you tackle the battle that is household chaos! And when you've put all that in order, it's time to check out the sequel in the Nanny Mania series as you take on the housekeeping challenges in Hollywood!
